At Hadar Incorporated, we’ve never set out to be just another law firm.
Since opening our firm in 2019, our mission has been to build the law firm of the future—one that reimagines what it means to serve clients, lead teams and solve problems. We call it Law Firm 2.0.
With this mind, we’re proud to announce our boldest leap forward yet: the launch of Lwazi, South Africa’s first real-time, voice-enabled AI agent for Property Law.
“Lwazi” means knowledge in Zulu. It can also be used to describe understanding, wisdom and enlightenment. The word is often associated with the value of learning and the pursuit of intellectual growth- all of which explains the concept of this advanced AI enabler.
Lwazi isn’t just another chatbot. She talks, she listens, she understands. And most importantly, she empowers.
Every Lawyer’s Nightmare or Every Client’s Dream?
Legal tech often inspires two opposing reactions: excitement from clients and unease from lawyers. After all, who wouldn’t want instant, affordable, on-demand legal help or updates? But at Hadar Inc., we don’t see innovation as a threat, we see it as an enabler.
Lwazi is not a lawyer replacer, she’s a lawyer enabler.
Her job is not to offer complex legal advice or replace human counsel, but to simplify access to quality legal information, save time and connect clients efficiently to the right attorney for their needs.
In the next phase of development, Lwazi will be an outlet for our clients to call (without charge!) if they want an update on the status of their matter. She will provide our clients a simplified summary of the next steps in any particular matter.
In fact, she will also be able to explain, in plain terms, the entire legal process from start to finish.
Why Conversational AI and Why Now?
Let’s be honest, most legal AI tools today, so far, are glorified text bots. They live on WhatsApp or Messenger. They reply with static templates and are generic, unimaginative and often more frustrating than helpful. You might as well have Googled it.
Lwazi is different, she is voice-based and conversational. She offers dynamic, context-aware responses in real-time. She’s trained using a closed, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) model, ensuring that her answers are informed by Hadar Inc.’s deep knowledge base and processes.
The result? She doesn’t hallucinate, she communicates.
Her capabilities include:
- Real-time voice interaction (call her directly on +27 060 042 8851 or visit out website www.hadarinc.co.za and click on the “Chat to Lwazi” button at the bottom of the page)
- Step-by-step issue clarification
- Collection of contact details and matter summaries for attorney follow-up
- Seamless escalation to Hadar Inc.’s expert Property Law team
Here’s a snipper from a sample exchange:
Lwazi: Hello there! Welcome to Hadar Incorporated property Law Specialists. I’m Lwazi, your virtual property law assistant. To help you best, could you please tell me your name and briefly describe the property law issue you’re calling about today?
Caller: I have a tenant that’s not paying rental. What can I do?
Lwazi: I’m sorry to hear that. To assist you better, could you please provide a bit more detail? For example, how long has the tenant been in arrears, and have you already sent any communication to them regarding the missed payments?
Caller: The tenant has been in arrears for about three months and I’ve sent various WhatsApp messages and tried to call her but she doesn’t answer my calls.
Lwazi: Thank you for sharing that information. Since the tenant has not responded to your messages and calls, you may want to consider sending a formal letter of demand. This letter should clearly state the amount owed, a deadline for payment, and inform them of the steps you may take if the payment is not received. Would you like more information on how to draft this letter, or do you need guidance on the next steps in the legal process for recovering arrear rent?

Born from a Spark at Harvard Law School
The idea for Lwazi was planted during the Harvard Law School Executive Education program in September 2024, where I connected with thought leaders like the world-renowned Professor of Law, David Wilkins (Lester Kissel Professor of Law and faculty director of the Center on the Legal Profession at Harvard Law School – https://hls.harvard.edu/faculty/david-b-wilkins/) and Robert Mahari (Associate Director of Stanford’s CodeX Center and a JD-PhD degree holder from Harvard Law School and the MIT Media Lab in Legal Artificial Intelligence – https://robertmahari.com/).
The message was clear, there was so much innovation for the legal profession to incorporate – or risk being left behind.
This inspiration was reignited through long strategy sessions with my brother-in-law, Dayne Levinrad of GetBird and a deep dive into AI’s latest capabilities. With Dayne’s tech insight and Hadar Inc.’s legal expertise, Lwazi was born.
Special thanks to Dayne, whose innovations in automated ordering agents helped lay the foundation for this legal breakthrough.
What Lwazi Really Does
Lwazi lives in two spaces:
- On the Hadar Inc. website as a digital assistant with whom you can converse by typing or speaking.
- On the phone, where she can be called directly for a human-like conversation.
Her primary function, at this phase of development, is to educate, inform and guide. She captures essential information from potential clients, explains legal terms or processes, provides input and helps determine the best next step. If requested, she then connects the potential client to our expert team to assist with legal services.
In the next phase of development, Lwazi will also be able to assist existing clients with current matters by offering matter updates, explaining legal terms or processes or leave messages for the attorney tasked with the matter.
Not Legal Advice but Real Help.
To be clear – Lwazi is still in Phase One.
She is in active development, with regular updates and new capabilities being added. She is trained on Hadar Inc.’s values, South African personality and Property Law knowledge. But she is not a qualified attorney and does not provide formal legal advice.
Instead, she offers accurate, curated answers to common Property Law queries, helpful, jargon-free explanations and fast-tracking of client inquiries to the right legal professional.
It’s all about saving time, reducing friction and delivering value.
Adding Value, Not Hours™
This isn’t just our trademarked slogan, it’s our promise.
Hadar Inc. has built its name representing some of the largest South African REITs, property funds, and real estate players. Our team is proudly diverse and powered by a belief that the best law firms empower their people and their clients.
Our investment in Lwazi reflects this ethos: a tech-driven, human-centred approach to legal practice that breaks down barriers and builds trust.
Imagine being stuck in traffic and wondering about the next step in your legal matter. Instead of emailing your attorney and waiting for a response (nevermind being concerned about how much such an email or call will cost you – a common complaint in our industry), you call Lwazi. She gives you a real-time simple and accurate answer.
Final Thoughts: Adapt or Die
The legal industry is at a crossroads. Law firms can choose to fear AI or embrace it. At Hadar Inc., we choose to innovate.
We believe that conversational agents like Lwazi are not just optional add-ons – they are essential enablers. But like any tool, they are most powerful when used hand-in-hand with human expertise.
It’s like having surgical tech in an operating theatre: the robot might be precise and helpful in the process, but you still want to see a human surgeon before, during and after surgery.
Lwazi is our legal robot and the Hadar Inc. team is the essential human bringing it all together.
